We are Melanie, Jens and Lara — a family with a heartfelt wish: to create a place where families with special children feel welcome, find rest, and regain new strength. We call this heartfelt project: Maison du Soleil – House of the Sun.

🏡 In France, we want to create a Place of retreat for Families who have children with special needs establish – with loving care, accessibleNestled in nature and tranquility. A place that provides safety, where children can simply be children, and parents can experience moments of relief and togetherness.

💛 Our Daughter Lara She was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of three. Additionally, she lives with a congenital heart defect. This diagnosis changed our lives overnight. The months spent in hospital, the therapies, and the worry for her life were a profound challenge for us as a family. And yet, Lara was full of... cheerful spirit, Imagination and a incredible inner strength — she has always been and continues to be our biggest inspiration.

🎨 Today, Lara is a joyful and sensitive girl who enjoys creating art, painting, dancing ballet, and discovering the world through her imaginative eyes. She dreams of becoming a ballerina in France in the future. Through her, we have come to understand how... precious and essential respite are important – for the child affected, their siblings, and especially for us as parents.

👩‍🍳 Melanie is a trained housekeeper With a great passion for structure, caregiving, and healthy nutrition, she will be responsible in the House of the Sun for maintaining smooth operations and making guests feel truly welcome and secure.

🔧 Jens is a qualified salesman with experience in skilled trades. He is skilled in renovation, technology, and organization – and will ensure that the house runs smoothly, is well-maintained, and filled with life.

🌈 Together, we complement each other as a team – not only as a family but also professionally. With Maison Soleil – House of the Sun, we want to bring our experiences, skills, and story into something greater.

We want to create a place where families with special children find rest can—a place that shines a light in challenging moments, that inspires courage, gives strength, and fosters connection.
